Hello everyone! I am Cleverne Nyanduko, a student currently pursuing an Honours Bachelor Degree in Paralegal. It is my greatest honour to seek the esteemed position of Student Governor 2024-2025. I have had the greatest opportunity to work in the Student Development Office which has given me a good overview of the great lengths the school goes into ensuring the growth, progress and success of Durham College students. I aim, therefore, to bring a dual perspective to the board to ensure a seamless continuity in the institution’s success in line with it’s vision and mission. Vote Cleverne!

Why I want to be the student governor

This position will help me to connect with various fields and get knowledge from everywhere I can get. It pushes me to use every ounce of energy for both my growth, giving me the opportunity to provide a better outcome for everyone. This will enable me to engage in decision-making and handle difficult decisions, both of which will be beneficial to me down the road. I can also provide the direct board insight as an overseas student. The skills I can bring to the table are punctuality & time management.

Hello, I’m a Year 1 level 2 Mechanical Engineering Technology student. A student governor sits on the board of the college and takes part in meetings and events. This is my first-time taking part in student governor position, but I will get a tag of student governor to put on my CV. Also to be student governor I must be nominated by students in given voting periods and meet the qualifications required to this role by college. Being student governor, I will get to meet amazing experience people and I will learn new things and be involved in decision making.
