International Holocaust Remembrance Day

On November 1st, 2005, the United Nations General Assembly designated January 27th as International Holocaust Remembrance Day. January 27th marks the day, when in 1945, the concentration and extermination camp, Auschwitz-Birkenau, was liberated. International Holocaust Remembrance Day provides us with the opportunity to remember the more than one million Jewish people who were murdered at various concentration camps around Europe during World War II; and reflect on the dangers of ongoing anti-Semitism and what meaningful allyship might entail.
