This course will address the inter-relationship between theory and process in group facilitation. Students will learn to develop and assess the therapeutic milieu and implement strategies promoting safe space, inclusion, participant as the expert and diversity of learning styles. Using the life skills model, students will design, facilitate and evaluate life skills groups with an emphasis on self-regulation, resiliency and strength based development. Students will be required to co-facilitate and participate in the peer evaluation of other group facilitations.
