Business And Family Law
This course examines the legal issues, related to both business and family law, which impact the development of a personal financial plan. Following an introduction to the Canadian legal system, the course analyzes the fundamentals of contract law. Students will examine the advantages and disadvantages associated with various legal forms of business organization and the incorporation process. Students then discuss the legal implications of one's marital status, including issues pertaining to common law and same sex partners. This leads to a consideration of different ways of assuming title to property.
