Campus Emergency Response Team (CERT)

The Campus Emergency Response Team (CERT) is available 24/7 7 days a week from the beginning of September to the last week of April to respond to medical emergencies and provide advanced first aid on campus.  In the event of an emergency, you can reach CERT by contacting campus security at ext. 2400 or calling 905.721.3211 (Oshawa and Whitby campus).

CERT is a student volunteer service staffed with volunteers trained in First Responder or Emergency Medical Responder with the Canadian Red Cross.

Response during COVID-19

CERT volunteers wear personal protective equipment such as face shields, safety glasses/goggles, respirators and gowns. These safety measures are being taken to help protect the campus community who require assistance from CERT and CERT responders, allowing CERT to continue supporting the campus community.

VOLUNTEER WITH CERT

CERT recruits volunteers for the start of fall semester and again at the beginning of winter semester.  Training for new volunteers is provided in August, prior to the start of the term and again in January at the beginning of term.

If you would like more information or would like to volunteer with CERT please complete the CERT application form and/or contact cert@dc-uoit.ca
